After RCB’S Yash Dayal, DC Star Batter-Wicketkeeper Accused Of Fraudulent Marriage Promise

Abishek Porel, wicketkeeper-batter for Delhi Capitals and a key member of the Bengal cricket setup, has been named in a complaint filed at Mogra Police Station in Hooghly district over allegations of cohabitation on the promise of marriage. The complaint was lodged by a woman who alleged that Porel entered into a relationship with her and lived with her after assuring marriage, but later failed to honour that commitment. Porel has denied all allegations, calling the claims false.

According to the complaint, the woman accused the cricketer of maintaining a relationship under what she described as a false promise of marriage. Police have received the complaint and are expected to examine the allegations as part of the preliminary inquiry. As of now, no court has established wrongdoing, and the allegations remain under investigation.

Porel has rejected the complaint and denied any wrongdoing. The cricketer has maintained that the accusations are baseless and has disputed the claims made against him. Neither Delhi Capitals nor the Cricket Association of Bengal has issued an official statement on the matter so far.

The complaint comes amid increasing scrutiny involving off-field legal issues concerning IPL players. RCB's Yash Dayal is facing two separate ongoing legal cases regarding serious sexual assault and exploitation allegations. Filed under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly physically, mentally, and financially exploiting a woman over five years under the false pretext of marriage. A separate case was registered in Jaipur involving a minor, where allegations include sexual assault under the guise of helping her start a cricket career.

Porel has emerged as a promising wicketkeeper-batter in domestic cricket and the IPL Representing Bengal in domestic competitions, he gained wider recognition after joining Delhi Capitals, where his batting versatility and wicketkeeping skills made him a notable squad member. The case is expected to develop further as police review the complaint and gather statements from the concerned parties
