AFI has announced 32-member squad for track and field sports for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

India has announced a 32-member squad for track and field sports for the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games starting July 23. Adille Sumariwalla, Chairman Selection Committee, Athletics Federation of India (AFI), announced the 32-member squad, including 10 female athletes.
After withdrawal from the Doha Diamond League 2026,Neeraj Chopra has been named in India’s squad for the Commonwealth Games 2026. Providing an update on Neeraj’s back injury, AFI chairman Sumariwalla ensured that the 28-year-old athlete will recover in time to participate in the tournament in Glasgow.
Rohit Yadav and Yashvir Singh have also been added to India’s javelin throw line-up for the Commonwealth Games 2026. The two have been added to the national squad after they reached the 82.61m qualification mark at the Ludhiana leg of the Indian Athletics Series on Saturday, complying with AFI’s selection policy.
Triple jumper Prabhu Selva will also be required to pass the fitness qualification at the upcoming domestic meet in Bhubaneswar to board the flight to Glasgow. AFI’s Chairman of the Selection Committee added that Prabhu will come close to the CWG qualification mark of 16.89m in Bhubaneswar.
In the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, India's track and field contingent bagged eight medals. This medal tally included a gold medal by the men's triple jump team and four silver and three bronze medals.
