Bihar sports department calls for a meeting to push sports infrastructure at local levels in the state
The Bihar government is shifting its sports push from cities to villages, directing all district sports offices to consult elected sports club members at gram and nagar panchayat levels.

The Bihar government has taken massive steps to promote sports in the state. After installing major developments worth ₹43.38 crore at ITI Buxar for urban sports, the administration has turned its head towards the local levels as well. The sports department has directed all district sports offices in the state to organize a meeting with all the elected sports club members to develop sports infrastructure in gram panchayat and nagar panchayat levels. These meetings aim to receive suggestions and feedback regarding the conduct of sports activities, optimal use of infrastrucrire and player development at local levels.
The department has set the deadline for all the districts to compile the feedback and submit the report by 31st January 2026. This will enable the development plan to be carried out more effectively and within the estimated timeline. So far, feedback from districts including Darbangha, Araria, Banka, and Madhubani has been received. The department has also provided a Google form through which the public can also give their suggestions.
