Sports Infrastructure in India: Regional Upgrades and Why They Matter
Several states are investing in professional-grade venues to nurture local athletes and host high-caliber events for instance in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh, the Golden Jubilee Stadium now features artificial turf and has hosted national football competitions such as the Santosh Trophy finals and SAFF U-19 Championship, reinforcing the state’s growing football ecosystem.
Under the Khelo India initiative, public-private partnerships have helped deliver FIFA-approved football turfs, synthetic tracks, and multipurpose sports halls across schools and communities, crucial for grassroots talent development.
With the Anini Stadium turf, Arunachal Pradesh is better positioned to host district and state-level competitions, offer professional training environments for youth, and deepen local football culture.
