“India Is Emerging as a Global Sporting Nation”: Khadse
During the visit, Khadse commented on the transformation of the Indian sports ecosystem as a result of the rapidly changing national policies.
“India is rapidly emerging as a global sporting nation due to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” she said.
She mentioned that the Khelo Bharat Niti 2025 focuses on developing new sports and increasing the ability and preparedness of the country’s infrastructure to organize international sports events.
International Participation Strengthens Event Significance
The Asian Senior Fencing Championships 2026 will include most of the top fencers in Asia along with important international sporting officials and members of the Federation Internationale d’Escrime (FIE), the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA), and the Pan American Fencing Confederation (PAFC).
The Minister was accompanied by officials of the Fencing Association of India and other technical bodies during the visit.
Can Emerging Sports Redefine India’s Global Sporting Identity?
Sportscapebelieves that the ability to organize major international sports events, such as fencing, extends India’s brand beyond traditional, popular sports to innovative and emerging sporting ecosystems. With infrastructure investments, new technologies, and policy interventions and support, for example the Khelo Bharat Niti 2025, India is positioning itself as a diversified sporting hub. If the Asian Senior Fencing Championships is a success, it makes the case for high-performance international sports events in India.
