Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026: India Announces Surfing Squad for Historic Campaign
India has named its surfing squad for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, with Kishore Kumar and Kamali Moorthy leading the men's and women's teams, respectively.

The Surfing Federation of India has officially announced the Indian Surfing Squad for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The women's and the men's squads will debut in surfing competitions for the first time in the Asian Games, which will be held from 25 to 28 September.
The President of the Surfing Federation of India, Arun Vasu, said it’s truly heartening to witness this historic day. He further said that the achievement is a testament to the hard work and determination of our surfers, coaches, and the federation over the years. The Indian surfers competing in the surfing events for the men’s and women’s teams, along with their reserves, are as follows:
Men’s Squad
For the men’s team, Kishore Kumar and Sivaraj Babu will lead the campaign for the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya. The Reserves for this group will be Ramesh Budihal and Srikanth T.
Women’s Squad
The women’s group has Kamali Moorthy and Sugar Shanthi Banarse as their lead surfers. For Reserves, the Surfing Federation of India has selected Shrishti Selvam and Devi Ramanathan.
Journey To Asiad
The Indian Surfing Team confirmed its spot at the Asian Games 2026 after the Indian surfers surpassed the required ranking points to qualify for the Asiad, with each quota for men and women. The surfers earned these quotas by accumulating ranking points in the Asian Surfing Championships 2024.
