On 413th International Appearances
Manpreet Singh shared a heartfelt message on his recent achievement in an Instagram post. He has successfully played 413 matches for Team India, leaving behind Dilip Tirkey, the former Indian skipper and current Hockey India president. “One unforgettable milestone Still digesting the fact that I now stand as the most capped player to represent India. It’s a moment that fills me with immense pride, gratitude, and humility. 413 caps represent years of sacrifice, hard work, discipline, resilience, and countless memories while wearing the India jersey. A special thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey from the very beginning - my family, teammates, coaches, support staff, federation, sponsors, friends, mentors, and fans. You have stood by me through the highs and lows, celebrated the victories, and helped me overcome the setbacks. This milestone belongs as much to you as it does to me. Every time I stepped onto the field, I carried the dream of representing my country with honour and giving everything I had for the badge. Beyond the records and milestones, my greatest motivation has always been to make my daughters proud - knowing that they look up to me means more than any number ever could. If this journey inspires even one young boy or girl to dream bigger, work harder, and believe in themselves, then every sacrifice has been worth it. History may have been created, but the journey continues. I remain as hungry, grateful, and committed as ever to serving Indian hockey and contributing in every way I can”
Sportscape believes that victory in the Ind vs Pakmatch was the perfect way to celebrate Manjeet Singh’s achievement of 413th appearance in international hockey. The Indian hockey team would want to carry on the celebration in the next game against Pakistan in the FIH Hockey Pro League on 26 June.
