Men’s T20I Asian Games Qualifier: Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Oman Clinch 2026 Asian Games Qualification
Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal and Oman have qualified for the Asian Games Men's Cricket 2026

Asian Games 2026 are around the corner. Qualifier matches have started taking place already. In the meantime, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal and Oman had qualified for the Asian Games men's Cricket Competition 2026.
The main event is going to take place in Japan during the months of September - October, 2026. Nepal and Malaysia have topped the qualifiers in Group A. Hong Kong and Oman were in Group B. Those two countries have topped their respective group as well. The qualifier matches were held in Singapore.
Nepal has scored a magnificent 313/2 for the T20 qualifier and repeated its own previous record of scoring more than 300 runs in T20 international matches. Also, Nepal is the only country to build that record twice. In that match, the Nepal Men's cricket team defeated the China men's cricket team by 212 runs.
Then, Nepal has beaten Malaysia as well by 167 runs and Krushal Bhurtel, the celebrated Nepali batter has outsmarted everyone with his performance in both matches. Qatar was also there in the same group (Group A) but as they've withdrawn their name from the tournament, Nepal topped the group eventually by winning two matches. Malaysia has also beaten China and secured its position in the group.
In case of group B, Hong Kong has defeated Bahrain and Oman has defeated Singapore as well. A match was held between these two winning countries. Whoever wins this match is going to face Malaysia as a result in the semis. And the defeated one has to face Nepal for that matter. But this will make no difference in the qualifying situation for all four of them in the main event.
Sportscape observes that, through these wins, we can witness performances of the above-stated teams in the Asian Games along with India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. This is going to be a whole new opportunity for the teams and an entirely new experience for the audience as well.
