“No KL Rahul?” MPL Selection Decision Triggers Massive Debate Among Cricket Fans
KL Rahul remaind unsold during the MPL auction invoked debate among his fans

Celebrated Indian Batsman and Wicketkeeper KL Rahul remained unsold during the Maharaja Trophy aka MPL. Admirers are assuming that the India vs Afghanistan series is going to take place from the 6th of June, in Chandigarh. As Rahul is the vice-captain of the Indian Test Cricket team, he's going to be absent during the MPL, and this is the primary reason behind the whole thing.
During this auction for MPL when the name came up no team showed up with interest to buy him, so he remained unsold. And this has created hype among his followers. Although they're pretty sure that's all because of the upcoming international series.
Though some remain questionable towards his demand in the domestic T20 format. But this is not the case as Rahul has proved himself again in the recent Indian Premier League 2026. This league is also in a T20 format and the player in question has represented the Delhi Capitals.
In the IPL 2026 Rahul has scored a total of humongous 593 in 14 matches all total. And maintained a strike rate of 175. Along with that he has scored a magnificent 152 and ranked himself amongst the highest-scoring Indian batters of India in the T20 format. All these prove his form so there's no question that should arise regarding that matter. At least after the recent performance he has given in the Indian Premier League and that too is the T20 format.
Observing all of that, Sportscape thinks the primary reason for KL Rahul remaining unsold during the MPL auction is nothing but the upcoming International tournament. As Rahul is an important player of the national team he's probably focused on that only. And we wish him all the best from our side!
