Rajasthan Allocates ₹100 Crore to Develop Maharana Pratap University of Sports, Adopts PPP Model for World-Class Infrastructure

In the sand dunes, once remembered for the royal battles it gave to the world to giving arenas which will render medals to Stalwart athletes, Jaipur is set to deliver it all. Getting the inspiration from the vision of presenting the state as a sporting hub, Deputy CM Diya Kumari has magnified the scope of policies to blend in the traditions with the new age athletic aspirations, which will deliver champions from the heartland of Rajasthan.
A significant budgetary move has been taken to allocate ₹100 crore for advancing the sports infrastructure of the Maharana Pratap University of Sports, equipping it to become one of the largest investments in the sporting tales of India. Allotment of ₹50 crores for conducting the Rajasthan Youth Games, ranging from the grassroots level of blocks to the state level lines of the Khelo India movement.
Rapid construction of sports stadiums in numerous areas has been proposed, covering different regions such as Dholpur, Vijay Nagar, Chhinch, Himmat Maidan Garhi, Deeg Kaman, Akola, Chittorgarh, Ahor, Nawalgarh, Kakoda, Hindaun, Kota, and 5 other districts. Indoor stadiums are not left behind from this wave of development, whereby the budget includes the construction of an indoor stadium in Pokhrana and revamping the indoor stadium of RD Girls College Bharatpur, with the laying of the athletic track in Dungarpur sports stadium.
Inclusion of Public-Private Partnership Model for Sports Infrastructure
The Rajasthan government plans to inculcate the PPP model for enhancing creativity in stadium design, maintaining the standards of athlete accommodation, and enhancing the quality of specialised training centres. The approach will aid in accelerating the timelines of construction, offering inclusion of international standards, while maintaining post-completion maintenance.
