Significance of the refurbishment project
The facility shall receive an increase in its seating capacity to 10,000 seats. Other developmental initiatives in the Kiambu region have also been unveiled by the supreme leader. This project is a part of the 22 modern stadiums development plan of the government, with special emphasis being given to the Nairobi-based Talanta Stadium upgrade to accommodate 60,000 spectators. The Talanta project is the heart of this sports renaissance.
Government's vision behind the makeover
The aggressive implementation of these scheduled projects has given the administration the ability to lay out their vision for such an ambitious endeavor, being primarily to support the young athlete population by giving them quality training facilities. Then comes the secondary goal of beaming as the host of AFCON to have achieved the requisite compliance to standard guidelines.
