AIFF Eyes ₹2,130 Cr Tech Driven Leap as Genius Sports Targets ISL Transformation
In a major step toward modernizing Indian football, the All India Football Federation is evaluating a ₹2,130 crore, 20-year commercial rights proposal from Genius Sports, covering the Indian Super League and Federation Cup.

After the ISL clubs sent a letter of appeal to their governing organization, AIFF, to increase inclusivity, participation, and transparency in all the commercial decisions taken on their behalf, AIFF had taken active measures to increase their accountability.
The London-based company Genius has made an appealing offer to revolutionize the ISL clubs of the Indian football arena. The proposed offer is that of ₹ 64.4 crore per year with a five percent annual increase, totaling approximately ₹ 2,130 crore over 20 years. From this deal, Genius shall earn the commercial rights of the top-tier ISL and Federation Cup, the nation's premier cup competition. Therefore, their bid seems to be perfect forAIFF.

Genius has also made arguments on the inclusion of AI in accentuating the fan experience. Along with this, a revenue-sharing scheme was suggested, which aims to guarantee that future commercial expansion benefits clubs while also contributing to the larger Indian football ecosystem. Debabrata Sarkar, the chief official for East Bengal, praised the proposal's overall direction but emphasized the significance of clubs' financial clarity.
