Infrastructural blueprint for the pivotal sports advancements
The targeted sports village shall have world-class indoor and outdoor arenas for cricket, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, archery, shooting, martial arts, and hockey. Among other constituents, proposals have also been made for professional coaching, physiotherapy services, and fitness centers to ensure holistic welfare of athletes and motivate them towards bringing national and international laurels to the state.
The complex has been majorly built with the purpose of availing quality infrastructure at the regional grassroots level, where inadequacy of facilities suppresses the talented youth. Areas like Banka, Bhagalpur, Jamui, and Munger shall especially benefit from the project, as these areas are prone to athlete migration to elite cities for exposure.
Sports as an economic driver
The Bihar government is prioritizing sports also as an economic catalyst, fostering a tourism boost seen across a ₹18.25 crore sanction for the Kesariya Buddha Stupa. The recent initiatives like the Rajgir-based international cricket stadium and the sports university are all dots connecting Bihar's bright future in sports.
