Atalanta Midfielder Ederson Called Up by Brazil to Replace Injured Wesley in World Cup Squad

The five-time FIFA World Cup winners have suffered a huge setback on Sunday when, during a friendly against Mo Salah’s Egypt, midfielder Wesley sustained an injury within the first 30 minutes of the game. As a precautionary measure, he was substituted out, but further scans revealed the injury is serious and thus Wesley can’t be a part of the Brazilian squad.

As the quick response from the coach goes, Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazilian manager, has summoned talented Atalanta midfielder Ederson to replace the injured Wesley in the squad.

The injury was an absolute shock for the midfielder as he was very successful for AS Roma this season and also for Brazil, and that’s why Ancelotti called up the player to the squad.
