Gujarat's GIFT City to expand leisure infrastructure with sports arena, golf facility and retail hub plans
Adding to its infrastructure plans, the GIFT City has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for building of a mall as a mixed-use retail, entertainment, and lifestyle hub.
In Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, the Gujarat International Finance-Tec City (GIFT City), home to India’s first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), has announced the setting up of a sports arena, a golf club, and a mall, within the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) of GIFT-IFSC.
As per officials, the upcoming project will include an 84,744 sq ft golf entertainment facility, featuring a 350-ft technology-driven driving range, 20 golf bays, coaching facilities, and dedicated spaces for corporate networking and community events. The facility is expected to be ready by Jan 2027. Other features within the facility will include real-time shot analytics, performance monitoring and virtual golf simulations.
Adding to its infrastructure plans, the GIFT City has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for building of a mall as a mixed-use retail, entertainment, and lifestyle hub. With a minimum development potential of 750,000 sq ft, the commercial space is expected to house significant retail outlets, national and international food and beverage offerings, entertainment spaces, and family recreation facilities.
GIFT City MD and Group CEO, Sanjay Kaul, mentioned the development of sports, recreation, leisure and lifestyle infrastructure in creating a holistic urban ecosystem capable of attracting global talent. Kaul further added that world-class amenities would strengthen GIFT City’s position as a globally competitive destination to live, work and thrive.
Parallely, GIFT City is also developing a multi-sport arena that is expected to be operational by Sep. The arena will have high-class facilities for box cricket, football, pickleball, baseball practice and golf-related activities.
