Washington Commanders issue RFI to explore AI capabilities for new stadium
Amid the ongoing construction work of their new stadium, Washington Commanders have issued a RFI to explore AI capabilities.

Amid the ongoing construction of a new $3.65B stadium in D.C., the Washington Commanders have issued a request for information (RFI) to identify AI Capabilities, integrations and collaborations to enhance a wide range of stadium functions and commercial activations both inside the stadium and the mixed-use district surrounding it.
Through the RFI, the Commanders want to comprehend the role of AI and other emerging technologies in elevating fan experience, build integrated infrastructure and assist the development of a new stadium with modern-day facilities. Designed by HKS, the new venue is expected to be ready by 2030.
Firms likely to respond to the RFI
A number of firms across several industries are expected to respond to the RFI. Firstly, firms excelling in AI-driven experience and fan-engagement will be interested in a potential collaboration to build the stadium for live sports events and entertainment programs.
This is a great opportunity for AI and technology platform companies that can build fan engagement software, personalised engines and provide data analytics to improve Commanders’ performance in the upcoming seasons.
Through the RFI, the Commanders will try to reach out to venue operations, security and systems-integration firms, especially those incorporating AI in their processes to integrate modern day systems in their new stadium.
Sportscape believes this move shows how important AI is becoming in modern stadiums. By exploring new technologies early, the Commanders can improve fan experience and stadium operations. If used well, AI can help create a smarter and more engaging venue for fans.
