ICC announces digital roadmap to expand Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 audience
ICC has announced roadmap to accelerate the growth of women's cricket ahead of Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

Ahead of the tournament opener between England Women and Sri Lanka Women, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the digital engagement roadmap for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, aiming to script a record for the most digitally engaged women’s sporting event in history.
In order to expand the tournament’s digital presence and promote women’s cricket, the ICC plans to leverage multilingual broadcasting, live streaming, social media content, artificial intelligence, and gaming experience to make the tournament like never seen before.
ICC’s plans for fan engagement in the Women’s T20 World Cup
The ICC wants the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 and women’s cricket to reach the grassroots level and establish themselves as premium global sports. After the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 garnered billions of views, the governing body wants to take it a step ahead with renewed strategies.
In a first, ICC.tv coverage will take place in nine languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Japanese, Thai, Dutch, Mandarin, and Bahasa Indonesia. Apart from regular English and Hindi streaming, language-specific streaming like Urdu coverage for Pakistan’s matches and Bengali coverage for Bangladesh’s matches will also take place to reach the local audiences.
Immersive experience for GenZ audience
For the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC has curated a special Roblox activation titled “Catch the Spirit" to attract Gen Z fans through gaming and immersive digital experiences. The activation will allow fans to virtually enter the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup stadium and participate in cricket-themed challenges and win exclusive rewards.
Social media-driven creator program
Introduced in the recent global events, ICC’s Creator Programme will make a return for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Behind-the-scenes access will allow social media creators to create exclusive content and share unfiltered matchday experiences, building excitement around the tournament.
Sportscape views the ICC digital strategy as a positive step to make women’s cricket more accessible and engaging, especially for younger audiences, while helping the tournament reach a wider global fanbase.
