IND vs SLA: Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Majestic Ton Powers India to Victory Despite Late Collapse
Rituraaj Gaikwad made the impossible win possible and lifted a collapsing batting line up to the winning platform

The tri-nation series is taking place in Dambulla. In India vs Sri Lanka opener, Rituraj Gaikwad played through the immense pressure and delivered India an edgy win by 8 runs. The match had a few dramatic twists and turns including the early phase of collapsing performance of the team and the later comeback and win.
As Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got selected in the national team for obvious reasons people were holding high hopes for him. They're eyeing a beautifully articulated performance of Sooryavanshi. As he has performed remarkably in the Indian premier league 2026 and no doubt that performance created his pathway towards the national team. And this debut match was a golden opportunity for him to prove himself. But, to the utter disappointment of every ardent cricket fan Vaibhav Sooryavanshi this day returned to the dugout after making only 14 runs. And couldn't perform presumably in his debut match.
Meanwhile, Gaikwad came to the rescue and stood up for the team. And scored a much-needed brilliant century out of 114 deliveries. This was the need of the hour. And thus Rituraj saved the drowning ship of Team India and made it anchor. Also got the support from the captain of the shop Tilak Varma, who has also contributed remarkably to their partnership of 150 runs. And had scored 60 of his own.
This enormous amount of effort from these two batters of the team has somehow made it possible to score 277 out of 6 wickets at the end of the innings. At first, the host maintained the pressure on the match but Gaikwad and Verma made sure to return it on behalf of the team. Although, in the second innings Sri Lanka tried their best and broke through India's bowling line up but there came the most dramatic part as in the last portion of the innings, the Indian bowlers decided to turn the tables and took four wickets in just seven runs. Arshad Khan and Ayush Badoni deserve a special mention here. And at the end of the 48th over Sri Lanka got all out for 269 runs. Marking India's win.
Sportscape observes this match as one of the breathtaking thriller matches of India's ODI history. Gaikwad and Verma deserve a bow for their dedication and strategic performance. Whereas the bowling squad also demands a special round of applause for the table-turning moments they had delivered that day. We therefore congratulate the entire team on this spine-chilling, breathtaking win.
