On June 6, Kabuni launched its Playtime 2026 event in Mumbai, unveiling a star-studded coaching panel including Shreyas Iyer, Sourav Ganguly, AB de Villiers, and Shane Watson.
At the heart of India's launch, the Kabuni Premier League will follow a clear format, allowing aspiring cricketers to register, select any Super Coach team, and proceed in trials. A total of 150 players will be selected through trials and will proceed to the finals, creating a competitive and developmental environment for young cricketers.
With the aim of encouraging physical mobility in times of digital dependence, Kabuni aims to increase youth participation in physical activities by combining the sport with technology. As an AI-driven sports coaching platform, Kabuni is targeting a long-standing gap in Indian cricket by transforming raw, unstructured talent into groomed players ready for competitive cricket.
The deep integration of AI into cricket training makes Kabuni a standout among digital platforms. It allows real-time tracking of player movement, technique analysis through biomechanical data, and offers actionable feedback. Drifting away from traditional coaching cues, Kabuni provides player-specific insights to track their performances, improving both targeted and trackable ones.
Technology and AI are no longer add-ons; rather, they are gradually transforming how athletes train, recover, and compete. In cricket, data analytics is becoming a crucial mechanism to build team strategy, prevent injury, and much more. Through its latest launch, Kabuni is taking that advantage to the grassroots level in order to create a long-lasting impact.
Sportscape believes the rise of such coaching platforms reflects a larger shift in the sports industry. However, the real question remains the execution. If Kabuni can balance innovation with greater accessibility, it has the potential to redefine the cricket coaching technique at the grassroots level.
