Roadmap to the renovation upgrades
A major part of this investment shall be invested for the upgradation of the changing rooms into modern, international standards-compliant arenas, which shall cost £750,000. An additional £200,000 has been allocated for repair and renovation works, which involve the installation of two additional wickets on the hotel side of the ground. The vision behind these improvements is to make the Old Trafford ground compatible with hosting significant national and international matches. £120,000 has been allocated for the makeover of the changing rooms of the players and media centre. The viewer experience was further enhanced by the 1025-seater stand featuring the pitch-view terrace, replacing the red rose suite.
“These upgrades will ensure the stadium continues to meet the highest expectations of players and teams while strengthening our position as a premier venue for major domestic and international fixtures for years to come. Although the club is no longer financially reliant on international fixtures, thanks to the strength of the off-field business at Emirates Old Trafford, the allocation of high-profile matches remains a significant contributor to our year-on-year revenue," Vic Stewart, honorary treasurer at Lancashire Cricket, said.
India recently had a meeting with the UK leaders to gain experiential notes on hosting requisites for the Commonwealth Games , whereby a major economic boost was discussed as a by-product of the upcoming event.
