Significant sports initiatives taken by the Mann government
With initiatives like Har Pind Khel Maidan, which aims at building a playground across all 12,500 villages of Punjab worth ₹1,200 crore, he signals his priority for local accessibility to quality sports infrastructure. The initiative was also used to rescue the youth from slipping into the horrors of drug abuse and develop a healthy lifestyle. On lines of innovative initiatives, Ludhiana's former prison ground was also transformed into a multi sports park.
An allocation of ₹1,300 crore has also been made to construct 3,100 modernized stadiums across the state with state-of-the-art facilities. Using the role model observation bias, CM Mann has also instructed 4,000 sports ground sanctions where medal winners of the motherland shall coach the budding athletes.
17,000 sports kits worth ₹50 crore have been proposed to be distributed for making the infrastructure usable at the base levels. Financial incentives of ₹1 crore, ₹75 lakhs, and ₹50 lakhs have been reserved for the gold, silver, and bronze medalists, respectively.

Mass participation drives like the Kheda Watan Punjab Diyan also serve noteworthy eminence for their appeal among the locals. Punjab is now looking ahead to performing at the Asian Games 2030. With its very own Qila Raipur rural Olympics as a model for marquee events, Punjab is ready to emerge as an athlete feeder state.
