Chhattisgarh Budget Spurs Major Cricket Grounds At Rajgami Estate
The CM announced the allocation of five acres of Rajgami Estate land to the District Cricket Association in Rajnandgaon for establishing a modern sports ground and cricket academy.

Chhattisgarh has been diversifying its sporting game to include niche sports like golf in its playbook, as Vishnu Deo Sai held a meeting with Padma Bhushan Kapil Dev to discuss golf-centered infrastructure.
CM Vishnu Dev Sai conducted a cabinet meeting at his vidhan sabha premises, where strategic decisions were made in varied fields of governance, energy, and sports advancements.

Significance of the proposed facility
This project is being considered as a stepping stone to fructify the area's potential, which was suppressed due to lack of quality facilities. With major land and governance reforms also announced at the Nava Raipur session, the government has aimed for a comprehensive infrastructural haul to strengthen sports participation at the regional levels.
State's comprehensive sports vision
Recent initiatives like the state-of-the-art cricket facility in Nava Raipur across 7.36 acres of land and the 5 crore indoor stadium project at Duldula are all parts of the same vision. The indoor stadium at Durg shall also aid in providing elite training services at the local level. Refurbishment projects like the modernization of the Sarangarh stadium shall also contribute towards the sports combining of the state.
While the center had approved the Khelo India Tribal Games, Dr. Sisodiya had also urged the Union to grant Chhattisgarh the opportunity to host the 40th National Games.
“Chhattisgarh has emerged as a strong contender in several sports over the past decade. Hosting the National Games will further consolidate this progress and inspire a new generation of players,” Dr. Sisodia reportedly told the minister earlier.
