Government's winning strategy for state sports renaissance
Uttarakhand has been actively evolving its sports ecosystem with examples like the water sports advancements at the Tehri Lake. The CM had also announced the increase in financial incentives for Olympic winners to 1-2 crore along with constructing 23 sports academies across 8 cities.
After hosting the 38th national games, international-standard sports facilities were built with a three-layered development vision. Starting from villages, going to Nyaya Panchayat, and finally to districts, completions shall be organized to give exposure to the budding athletes with a transfer of funds ₹11 crore worth to the players via direct benefit transfer.
“This is not merely an expansion of basic infrastructure but a strong initiative to realize the dreams of Uttarakhand's youth, through which sports culture is being promoted in villages, and our players are bringing glory to the state at national and international levels," said the CM.
