BCCI Chairman 2026 Backs Massive Push as BCCI Indoor Cricket Academies Launched Across North-East
BCCI chairman 2026 drives expansion with BCCI Indoor Cricket Academies across North-East India. New indoor cricket centre network aims to boost grassroots talent and transform regional cricket infrastructure.

In a major infrastructure boost under the vision of the BCCI chairman 2026, six state-of-the-art BCCI Indoor Cricket Academies have been inaugurated across North-East India, marking a decisive step toward decentralising cricket development. The indoor cricket centre network, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to create a high-performance ecosystem and unlock grassroots talent in the region.
Developed by the Board of Control for Cricketin India, these academies are strategically located across six states, ensuring access to modern facilities for aspiring cricketers who previously lacked professional infrastructure
Six Indoor Cricket Centres to Build a Pan-North-East High-Performance Network
The newly launched indoor cricket centre facilities are located in Rangpo (Sikkim), Doimukh (Arunachal Pradesh), Imphal (Manipur), Madankurklang (Meghalaya), Aizawl (Mizoram), and Dimapur (Nagaland).
This network of BCCI Indoor Cricket Academies is designed to provide year-round training regardless of weather conditions, integrating coaching, infrastructure, and performance pathways into one unified system. The move also ensures that players from the North-East no longer need to relocate to traditional hubs for elite training.
A Structural Shift in Indian Cricket Development
This is not just an infrastructure rollout, it’s a strategic reset. Sportscape feels that the BCCI chairman 2026 vision signals a move away from metro-centric development toward a truly national talent ecosystem.
If sustained, these indoor cricket centre investments could fundamentally reshape Indian cricket’s talent map, with the North-East emerging as a new production hub for elite cricketers.
