BookMyShow has been appointed official ticketing partner for BWF World Championships New Delhi 2026, with tickets starting at ₹499 under early bird pricing.

BookMyShow has been appointed as the official ticketing partner for the BWF World Championships New Delhi 2026,with ticket sales opening on June 22. The construction of new sporting infrastructure continues to enhance the customer experience with the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium set to host one such event, the Bengali Open Badminton Tournament between the 17th and 23rd of August.
Taking place for the first time in 17 years, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) estimates that more than 6,000 tickets will be put on sale using the BookMyShow application.
Increased Fan Participation Through Lower Price Tickets
The preliminary ticket price for a single ticket is set at ₹499, Varied Seating Representation (VSR) offers six different price bands, a discount of 15 per cent is only offered for certain price bands, with a price of ₹5,500 allotted for premium seats.
Tickets are to be released in sections for the first four days of the tournament, maintaining ticket prices for those days that lead up to the finals. The initiative aims to enhance matchday engagement, accessibility to professional badminton, and the event atmosphere.
India’s Top Badminton Athletes Set / Scheduled to Compete in BAI Open
The tournament will feature India’s top athletes including Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty who will compete in World Championships on home soil for the first time.
The tournament will also host An Se-young, Shi Yu Qi, Li Shi Feng, and Fajar Alfian and Shohibul Fikri from Indonesia, with strong contingents expected from Malaysia and Thailand.

Badminton Association of India General Secretary Sanjay Mishra described the event as a defining milestone for the sport in the country.
“The BWF World Championships coming to New Delhi is a landmark moment for Indian badminton and for the fans who have fuelled the sport’s rise over the years,” Mishra said.
“We are delighted to partner with BookMyShow to bring that vision to life and connect more fans with the sport’s biggest stage.”
BookMyShow Representative, Jayjeet Shetty, stated that since badminton has gained numerous passionate fans in India, they plan to expand their ability to sell tickets for these events.
