Vision Of The RPL
Rahul Bose, ex-rugby player and a Bollywood actor, is the President of Rugby India. The Rugby Premier League aims to create a realistic, professional, and financial pathway for the country's youth, so that they are incentivized to pursue an international rugby career. The league also wants to make rugby one of the most exciting sports on television. The fact that India's youth in 322 out of a total of approximately 760 districts play rugby is little known, as the sport has never been adequately featured in mass media. Finally, their objective is to utilize the money and opportunities presented by the league to build on the 'Nursery to Nation' concept - a high-performance program that will start at the grassroots and aspire to India qualifying for the Olympics in 2032 and 2036.
Sportscape believes that the Rugby Premier League is a great addition to the emerging sports in India. With Rahul Bose, an ex-rugby player, acting as the president for RPL, the legitimacy of the game increases. The league aims to make rugby one of the five top-of-mind sports for India's youth to play.
