CM A. Revanth Reddy launches ₹50 crore sports push to build future champions
Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy on Friday launched sports infrastructure projects worth ₹50 crore.

On Friday, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla announced a series of sports development projects worth ₹50.73 crore to build training facilities and infrastructure, boosting sports infrastructure in the state.
As part of the announcement, the government laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹36.65 crore and inaugurated sports academies at Gachibowli Stadium and LB Stadium, built at an estimated cost of ₹14.08 crore.
CM Reddy and Gov Shukla inaugurated multiple academies at the Gachibowli Stadium, including the FIFA-AIFF Telangana Talent Academies for boys and girls, each valued at ₹5.70 crore. The stadium is now equipped with athletics academies for boys and girls and hockey academies for boys and girls, built at a cost of ₹44.50 lakh each.
At the LB stadium, ₹58.50 lakh was spent to build a football academy for boys and ₹49 lakh to develop a handball academy. The two academies were inaugurated yesterday by the CM and the governor.
Other sports infrastructure projects in Telangana will include the development of several mini stadiums and sports facilities at the district level, including a ₹10 crore mini stadium in Shadnagar. The foundation stone was laid for the construction of a multi-purpose stadium in Wanaparthy at an allocated budget of ₹4 crore. The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium in Sangareddy will be modernised under ₹10 crore along with the development of other sports facilities in Narayanpet, Kamareddy, and Medak districts.
