Himachal to build ₹125 crore indoor stadium in Nadaun, announces athlete incentives
Himachal Pradesh CM has announced the development of world-class sports facility in Nadaun.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday reiterated the state government’s commitment towards developing sports infrastructure and encouraging sports excellence through a cash bonus. While interacting with young athletes at the Sports Authority of India Centre of Excellence at Anu near Hamirpur, Sukhu announced the development of a 125-crore state-of-the-art indoor stadium at Nadaun.
He further mentioned that the sports stadium at Nadaun will be equipped with international-standard facilities for 14 disciplines, including swimming, badminton, volleyball, table tennis and boxing, among others. The upcoming sports facilities is expected to emerge as a major hub for sports training and competitions in Himachal Pradesh.
On Sunday, at the state-level celebrations of the International Day of Yoga, the CM highlighted the government’s efforts to motivate athletes through enhanced financial assistance. He announced cash awards of Rs 3 crore for gold medal winners at the Asian Games, while silver and bronze medalist would receive Rs 2 crore and Rs 1.5, respectively. Other athletes belonging to the state bringing laurels to the country will also be rewarded with cash incentives.
Sportscape believes the construction of multi-facility indoor stadium at Nadaun will boost the sports infrastructure of the state, encouraging the young generation to take up sports. At the same time, the government’s decision to provide financial assistance to athletes is a great intiitave to help sportsperson sustain financially.
