Golf for All Gains Momentum as ₹11.95 Crore Push Drives Inclusive Sports Forward
The “Golf for All” initiative, led by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, marks a significant step toward inclusive sports in India

If development was a tripod stand, one of its legs would definitely have been inclusivity. Without the inclusion of all the sectors of this man-built society, there can never be growth in the true sense.
Golf being the transformative sport, it has pleasantly surprised the sporting community, as the Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) has announced the Golf for All initiative.Chairman and managing director of ALIMCO, Shri Praveen Kumar ji, was invited for a meeting with the other partners to actualize the idea of inclusive golf.
Delegates from the Golf for All initiative called on CMD Shri Praveen Kumar to discuss advancing inclusive sports for Divyangjan.

Stakeholders of the inclusive project
The artificial limbs manufacturing corporation of India( ALIMCO) has participated in the multi-stakeholder initiative whereby the PSU has already invested ₹11.95 crore. PEFI (Physical Education Federation of India) shall form the implementation support pillar while the Golf for All Foundation is the program driver.
This multi-stakeholder project is being carried out at Delhi Golf Club.Under this initiative, sports equipment shall be specially installed for the accessibility of the specially abled. Investment has been made in infrastructure and training not just for practicing skill sets but also for boosting the confidence of the specially abled who struggle in the shadows of this fast-paced societal environment.
Significance of inclusivity in sports
This project also highlights the potential of the corporate world to bring about a change through their CSR activities. Sharing his name with the CMD of ALIMCO, Praveen Kumar, who won a gold at the men's high jump event of the Paris Paralympics 2025, is a live example of how small efforts can bring about big changes. Initiatives like the $100 million investment in boosting gold infrastructure by IGPL also hold significant value in boosting the sport.
