Indian batters Mandhana, Ghosh and Kaur dominated the batting line up in the Ind vs Pak match
Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh and captain Kaur's performance gave an acceleration to the score in the first innings

Women in Blue started their T20 World Cupjourney with a win against the Pakistan women's team yesterday. The match has taken place in Edgbaston. This is special as the team scored a 170 which is the highest till date Indian women's team has ever made against Pakistan in this format.
The entire squad had a prominent coordination while Smriti Mandhana, Deepthi Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh made a separate mention on their behalf. Smriti scored a half-century and concluded at 68. While the captain Harmanpreet contributed important 36 runs and made the partnership a match-winning potential. Mandhana's performative brilliance and Kaur's experience made the first innings smooth while in the second innings, Deepti Sharma gave a five-star performance. She took 5 wickets by giving just 10 runs undoubtedly the highlight of the match.
On the other hand, Richa Ghosh, the very first World Cup-winning Bengali cricketer has contributed some more runs in the first innings at a very crucial moment. Though she appeared a little late in the latter part of the first innings. She took every opportunity she got. She scored 34 runs in just 17 deliveries and made a strike rate of 200 at the moment India needed speed. Ghosh is a Wicketkeeper although she has been really consistent when it comes to delivering runs in the middle or lower order. That makes her a crucial part of the playing XI.
Ghosh made his debut in the international cricket domain as a teen. Since then she has been playing pretty much consistently and has made sure to get a call from the national-level selectors almost every time. Also whenever she got selected she has proved the decision a right one. In this match, she also didn't prove either. We have seen it very often that in a format like T20, mid-order batters play an important role. This time Richa played the role sincerely. Mandhana's initiative got a fair conclusion with Richa's performance.
Sportscape thinks that this is a positive sign for the team as the middle and lower order batters are also performing really well. This will help the team in the upcoming matches. We therefore wish this 22-year old bengali batter our heartiest congratulations along with the other members of the squad. May this win become a pathway for many more wins in the tournament.
