The CM urged the panel members to comprehensively work towards revamping the existing sports infrastructure to host ambitious events while preparing plans for the construction of new ones compliant with international standards to provide quality training to the budding athletes while bidding to host global events.
Among the others, the CM mentioned Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium, LB Stadium, and Saroornagar Stadium, which are eligible for a makeover to world-class training camps.
He also declared the construction of a Young India physical education and sports university, where grounds for all forms of sports shall be provided to create a dedicated space for skill enhancement of all athletes.
Significance of private investment in the grand scheme
Earlier the CM had also announced the state's one-of-a-kind sports policy in 2025 prioritizing Hyderabad to get a sports hub, which led to the formation of the board of governors overseeing the Telangana Sports Development Fund. It shall be a blend of reputed sports administrators and corporate leaders to use private investment potential to its zenith in sports projects like the TATA partnership worth 50,000 crore.
