On the other hand, Malsawmtluanga (men’s 80 kg category) had an unfortunate day and lost against Ashaish Hussein (Jordan) with 4-1 in the World Boxing Cup, Guiyang.
Saneh Makes It To The Last Eight
In the women’s 65 kg division, Saneh, an Indian boxer from Haryana, defeated Seon Sujin (The Republic of Korea) with 4-1 to progress towards the quarter finals. She will face Poland’s Kinga Krouka in the last eight. Another boxer, Mahi Lama, lost in the 60 kg category against Monkhor Namuun (Mongolia).
Future Matches
In the women’s section, Minakshi (51 Kg) is scheduled to fight against Natalia Kuczewska from Poland, and in the men’s boxing, Abhilash Jamwal is up against Kyrgyzstan’s Mirzokhid Imamnazarov in the 65 Kg group. Surprisingly, none of the players in the World Boxing Cup in Guiyang is listed for the Commonwealth and Asian Games scheduled in 2026. They also skipped the World Boxing Cup stage in Brazil this year.
