After an extensive review carried out across major sports infrastructure, the CM of Telangana is laying the stone for the executional aspect of this ambitious vision of transforming Telangana into a major sports city. At the inauguration of the Telangana Legislators' Sports and Cultural Meet-2026, the CM announced a major investment of ₹700 crore for a stadium construction hall in Gachibowli.

"We have readied plans to develop world-class sports facilities with ₹700 crore in the 70-acre sports grounds at Gachibowli in such a way as to host the Olympics in 2034. We are going to start work there in three months. The Telangana government is going to take decisions to conduct international competitions in the Gachibowli grounds in three years," he said.
Telangana’s comprehensive plan for the sports overhaul
One of the many significant aims proclaimed by the CM behind the construction of the stadium is the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in the youth. Prevent the young generation from the horrors of substance abuse and cultivate a progressive mindset.A similar initiative was also seen in Punjab as CM Mann Singh aimed at using sports as a medium for social welfare.
“The government is promoting sports as it wants youth to stay away from drugs and other bad habits," he said.
In addition to these proclamations, another important revelation was the automatic eligibility of the sports marvels in getting secured government jobs.
"We have introduced a sports policy to provide government jobs in addition to cash incentives for sportspersons who achieve excellence in sports," he said.
