After the tragic loss of 11 lives in the RCB winning celebrations, the D’Cunha commission had suggested requisite renovations in home grounds to prevent any such misfortune ahead. In compliance with the guidelines, the Sun Group has invested ₹10 crores in upgrading the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, based in Uppal, Hyderabad. The renovations have been introduced to improve standards along hygiene, accessibility, and hospitality services.
Roadmap to the infrastructural renovation
The owner of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise has planned to bring about several significant changes, including giving a makeover to all the 42 corporate boxes and lounges. The specificities involve the installation of stylish wooden floors enhanced by quality leather seating and counters in a bar style. Along with this, 46 toilets shall be transformed from basic tile-floored arenas to aesthetic refreshment lounges with new sinks and better lighting.
Additionally, provision is being made to install 2 new elevators to ease spectator mobility and 43 brand new air conditioners to beat the heat in the weather while raising the thrilling heat of the IPL craze. The owner group took to social media earlier today to display a clean transition of the old, dingy-looking lounges to state-of-the-art, modernised arenas anchored around enhancing spectator experience to its pinnacle.
Facelifting complements the state's vision
CM Revanth Reddy's sports infrastructure review meeting's emphasis on the state's vision of presenting itself as a potential host of the 2036 Olympics is also being strengthened by such refurbishment projects and hosting of events like the FIH Women's Hockey World Cup at the prestigious Gachibowli Stadium.
