Administrative Nod Paves Way For Long Overdue ACA International Cricket Stadium In Andhra Pradesh
The long-delayed ACA International Cricket Stadium in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, is finally set for completion after a 7-year halt post the state's 2015-16 bifurcation

Envisioned to aid the development of the Amravati capital after the Andhra state bifurcation in 2015-16, the construction of the international standard cricket stadium between Vijayawada and Guntur has finally picked up pace after a 7-year wait.
2015 saw the commencement of the 24-acre facility but was stalled due to execution delays and uncertainties surrounding the growth of Amravati as the new permanent capital. The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is partnering with the Andhra government to revamp the neglected venue into a state-of-the-art cricket facility.

The ACA International Cricket Stadium is located in Mangalagiri, near the state capital region.MP Keshineni Shivanad and ACA secretary Sana Satish Babu unveiled the upgrade blueprint for the asset to include a 35000-seating-capacity facility spread across 24 acres.
Infrastructure and design of the Mangalagiri stadium
The architectural niche of the project is in its oval bowl configuration, having the spectators seated in a spiral around the pitch. The current revival cost worth 5 crore shall include the upgrading of operational facilities like floodlights and spectator stands.
The 360-degree view is further enhanced by multi-layered seating blocks with special attention to avoid pillars obstructing the view of the field. The facility has a player dressing room, media and broadcasting areas, and match official areas, along with VIP dedicated space.A clubhouse is also being envisioned inside the campus along with the central indoor cricket academy, practice nets, and residential accommodation for 150-200 athletes, making it their one-stop solution. The facility has also catered to the sustainability angle with open-air circulated natural ventilation and landscaped surroundings.
Inaugural match in Andra's sports revival
Andhra Premier League 2026 shall give a grand opening to the facility after its inauguration in the hands of CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh in June. The stadium shall be a part of the broader ₹54 crore allocation for sports development, including projects like Kodi Rammurthy Stadium in Srikakulam and the Kommadi-based next-generation stadium worth ₹25 crore.
