K. T. Parnaik Meets Jyotiraditya Scindia to Drive Arunachal’s Sports Infrastructure Vision
In a significant push towards strengthening sports infrastructure in Northeast India, K. T. Parnaik met Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in New Delhi to seek central assistance for developing Arunachal Pradesh’s sports ecosystem

The northeastern part of India is taking their sports development very seriously with major infrastructural developments in recent times. If one starts from Mizoram and Manipur, both receive a boxing ring and a basketball court respectively by the Assam rifles and Garhwal rifles respectively.
In order to provide the needed sports development impetus, Arunachal Pradesh Governor K. T. Parnaik has requested central assistance to kickstart the sports ecosystem of the state. He met with the Department of north eastern region Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in New Delhi in this regard and discussed the future of the state's sporting industry.

Highlights of the meeting
Talks were conducted on boosting the agro based kiwi economy.The Governor proposed the development of a dedicated football stadium in the state capital of Itanagar along with integrated sports complexes and sports academies across eastern and western Arunachal to nurture young athletes.
He prioritised accessibility to be one of the visions guiding the actualisation of the state's vast sports potential.Adjacent to this suggestions were also made to include sports infrastructure in higher educational institutions to motivate the youth in pursuing sports and provide quality training at the grassroots level.
Center's support for sports development of the state
Before this, the center had stepped in to give a boost to the state sports infrastructure by inauguration of the Khelo India multipurpose hall in the Kamle district by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. Along with this , a 25000 seater stadium was also built recently under PM DevINE.
