Days after Mizoram announced its boxing ring inaugurated by the Assam Rifles in their commitment to the development of the border area, Manipur had the Garhwal Rifles inaugurate a basketball court at the De Paul School located in the remote village of Puni Pfosemei, Senapati, Manipur. This initiative has been brought as a part of operational Sadbhavna.
Welfare promotion by the Indian Army for holistic growth
The project is an ideal example of the 19 Garhwal Rifles, Red Shield Division and Spear Corps, in their commitment to the comprehensive welfare of the area, not just security. The contingent took an active part in the construction of the facility in their ambition of promoting grassroots-level sports.
This court is a stellar example of the beautiful collaboration of the armed forces in the civilians' welfare and shows a wholesome collaboration. The armed forces are using sports as a medium for uplifting sensitive areas and inspiring the youth to inculcate productive activities.
