The main goal behind the project is to channel the energy of the youth in a streamlined and productive way, and what better sport to train in physical resilience than boxing? The boxing culture of the Northeast is far known for having given us legends like Mary Kom. This initiative shall provide quality training accessibility to the athletes and keep them from getting astray during the stress of the border disputes.
Sports as a weapon to stabilise youth in Border regions
The Assam Rifles has built this facility under its civic action program whereby the government funds models of welfare especially in strategic areas that require special attention. An annual budget is allocated under the welfare CAP program, which is further used to build a reaction based on trust between the military and the civilians.
Minister Hamar had recently addressed a review meeting in the capital of Aizawl focusing on the future prospects of sports infrastructural developments, substantiating the announcement of an indoor volleyball hall and a multipurpose stadium.
