AVC Men's Cup 2026: Team India Crushes Kazakhstan 3-0 to Make It Back-to-Back Straight-Set Wins

Team India beat Kazakhstan with a score of 3-0 at the AVC Men’s Cup 2026 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. India also won against New Zealand with the same gap in a game before, marking their back-to-back wins in the tournament. Due to their victory, India jumped four positions up the list, to 52 in the FIVB world Rankings.

Kazakhstan tried the offensive approach in the beginning, but that strategy didn’t last long as India’s defense was on point. The host team pulled the first set with 25-16, then claimed the most thrilling penultimate set with 25-21. The Indian volleyball team reigned in the last set with 25-15, which sealed their victory at 3-0 and positioned them at the top of the Pool A table in AVC Men’s Cup 2026.

The Indian skipper, Jerome Vinith, scored 13 points for the team, and outside hitter Chirag Yadav contributed 14 points with a shot accuracy of 25.64%. Kazakhstan’s outside hitter, Vladislav Mastikhin, scored the highest points in the match, 16, but his team failed to back him in the game.

The hosting team won against New Zealand in the previous games with the same score of 3-0. They will face Chinese Taipei in the next match scheduled on 22 Jun, 2026. The Chinese team has also won its last game against Australia, 3-1. India, Bahrain, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Australia, and New Zealand comprise Pool A in the AVC Men's Cup 2026. Currently, the Indian Volleyball team sits at the top of the table with 6 points.
