"I Want to See Indian Athletes Win Clean": Neeraj Chopra as His Foundation Launches Clean Sport Initiative

Neeraj Chopra and his foundation join hands with the Indian Olympic Association to launch an anti-doping awareness campaignin 2026. The joint initiative aims to educate the young athletes of India to avoid the use of medications and drugs to enhance their physical performance.

In a video released on Neeraj Chopra’s Instagram account, he urges the young athletes to stay clean and play clean sports for Team India. “Clean Sport is an idea I’ve carried for a long time. I know what an athlete sacrifices — the years, the discipline, the mornings no one sees. And I’ve seen how one uninformed choice can take it all away. Not from cheating, but because no one taught them better. I started this because I want to see Indian athletes win — and win clean. Every young athlete should know the rules, trust the process, and never feel they need a shortcut to belong at the top. Proud to launch Clean Sport, an initiative of my foundation, with the Indian Olympic Association alongside us. This is my word. And my word is clean. I am Clean Within.” Neeraj spoke about the menace of doping.

Team India’s star javelin thrower decided to lead the anti-doping stand ahead of his return to the field. Neeraj Chopra was ruled out of the Athletic Championships after his back injury in 2025. He finished in 4th position at the Doha Diamond League, the two-time Olympic gold medallist says, “Got to compete after so long, and it was a good throw. There is a lot of year remaining, and I will do better.”
