Mock Villages And Mega Prep, Define India's Blueprint To 2026 Asia Games
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized full support in training, sports science, nutrition, medical care, and logistics.

In order to ace international sporting competitions, India has a culture of sanctioning athlete development initiatives in lieu of the event, like the Target Olympic Podium scheme to identify potential winners and the Khelo India program to reinstate grassroots-level athlete participation and growth.
Dovetailing this, India has geared up its preparations for the 2026 Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya presided over a meeting at the headquarters of the Sports Association of India in New Delhi to accelerate the ongoing preparations for games scheduled between 19th September and 4th October.
“Our athletes are our utmost priority. We will provide every possible support, including training, sports science, logistics, equipment, nutrition, and medical care, allowing them to prepare without distractions and perform at their best during the Asian Games,” the minister emphasized.

Making of team India's winning infrastructure
A 15-member committee has been made to guide the entire event preparations across multiple disciplines, including sports stars like PT Usha and Sharath Kamal. A multi-day visit by the Indian Olympic Association to the scheduled locations gave the center a heads-up regarding the specificities needed in the blueprint to success
Simulated environments for athlete comfort
The aim shall be to mirror the Games setup and let our athletes adjust and get comfortable to prevent any stress triggers on the actual Day.The meeting included strategic planning to aid medical centers, athlete recovery facilities, and support teams at each of the 5 respective athletes' shelter clusters being constructed in Japan, anchored around dedicated sports categories.
In order to acclimatize our athletes with the non-traditional living conditions of these games villages built by using repurposed shipping container units, India has planned to construct mock container living units at Sports Authority of India centers at Patiala and Bengaluru. The vision behind this initiative is to ease athlete anxiety and stress levels in new surroundings and changed environments.
