Throwing light on the importance of the venue selection culmination at Navi Mumbai, “Navi Mumbai is an upcoming, rapidly developing area with excellent connectivity and proximity to the airport. It’s the perfect place to build a world-class stadium of this capacity,” Naik said.
Elaborating further on the project's scheduled timeline, “Work on the stadium should start after six months. We need a six-month window for process, planning, and design before implementation,” Naik added. The stadium shall aid in the growth of Maharashtra into a sports hub with recent inaugurations like the NAD Karanja Naval Base sports facility, which highlighted the importance of sports in a healthy lifestyle.
“A few months ago, Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed a vision that the Mumbai Cricket Association should strive to build a stadium with a capacity of 100,000. Considering the tremendous enthusiasm of cricket fans and the rich legacy of our association, the Hon’ble CM has been very positive about this project and its potential implementation in Navi Mumbai, where we can develop a truly world-class stadium with modern amenities.”, Naik highlighted the vision of the project.
