Pirelli’s Formula 1 partnership continues with fresh extension till 2028
FIA has announced one-year extension deal with Pirelli as its official tyre sponsor.

In a recent announcement, Formula 1 and the FIA have extended Pirelli’s global tyre partnership by one year. With this extension, the Italian brand will be the exclusive tyre supplier to Formula 1 and its feeder series throughout the end of the 2028 season.
FIA’s extension with Pirelli, activates the agreement signed in 2023, ensuring continuity across Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy as the sport continues to navigate the technical regulations introduced in 2026.
Since 2011, Pirelii has served as the sole tyre sponsor for F1 playing a central role in tyre development and performance testing. The renewal of partnership will embark a new journey as Pirelli will compete 18 consecutive seasons as the official sponsor by the end of the deal.
Commenting on the renewal of the deal with Pirelli, Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said, “We’ve enjoyed an incredible history and partnership with Pirelli, relying on their technical brilliance and focus on performance, innovation, and sustainability for many years, so I’m delighted that the FIA and I will continue that relationship for another year.”
“We are pleased to extend our presence in Formula 1 by a further year, until 2028, thanks to the agreement reached with the FIA – under the leadership of its President Mohammed Ben Sulayem – and with Formula 1,” Marco Tronchetti Provera, Executive Vice Chairman of Pirelli, said. He further added that Formula 1 provides them with best opportunity to innovate, test cutting-edge solutions, and continuously improve the research and development process.
