Sorry Vaibhav! Senior Sri Lankan Players Expressed Regret To Vibhav Suryavanshi Over On-Field Fight: Report
According to the reports, Senior Sri Lankan players have expressed regret to Vaibhav Suryavanshi over the on-field fight in the India A vs Sri Lanka A cricket match in Dambulla.

After the ugly feud between Vaibhav Suryavanshi and the Sri Lanka A cricket team, particularly Vishen Halambage, senior Sri Lankan players have expressed regret over the fiery altercation that occurred on the field, as per Cricbuzz. Although the players are not part of the current Sri Lanka A team, they know Vaibhav through their interactions in the IPL.

It has also come to light that Halambage has sledged Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the previous matches. The continuous verbal assaults led the young Indian batter to act impulsively. Niroshan Dickwella then stepped in to defuse the situation. Allegedly, there were discussions in the Sri Lankan dressing room on the argument and addressing the apology, according to Cricbuzz. Whether the apology was made remains unclear.
R Ashwin Backs The Indian Prodigy
As per the sources, R Ashiwin came forward to support the young player. He said, "Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not at fault here at all. After India A lost the match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was walking alone by himself. That is clearly visible in the video. However, the Sri Lankan players started saying various things to him from the side and began abusing him. Only after that did the altercation begin. Since Vaibhav Suryavanshi had done nothing wrong, whatever he did in response was justified. The Sri Lankan players should have shown more restraint. But if someone throws a stone, they should expect a response in return. What Vaibhav Suryavanshi did was absolutely right."
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Meets The Former ODI Captain Of Sri Lanka
Vaibhav also made a senior fan, the 79-year-old Anura Tennekoon, the first ODI captain of Sri Lanka. The ex-skipper waited for an hour in the dressing room after the match to meet him in the Rangiri International Stadium. He shared his words of wisdom with the young Indian star.
Sportscapebelieves that every game has two sides of the coin. While Vaibhav Suryavanshi is celebrated for his raw talent, there are moments when one has to face criticism as well. It is still encouraging to see senior players coming in his support. This incident will surely be a lesson for him to learn from.
