Blueprint to the ambitious project
The project was first announced during the FIFA Congress held at Kigali back in March 2023, worth a sanction of $4.5 million. The complex shall host an accommodation facility to host its national teams. The four-star envisioned project has been built to contain 42 bedrooms along with 2 dining halls, several large spaces, and 2 large meeting rooms.
Among other complementary amenities are a full-size training pitch and several mini football pitches located in Remera.Additional pitches built across Kagarama, Kicukiro District, shall also be inaugurated under the initiative.
Rwanda's legacy in sports infrastructure
Rwanda has some stellar infrastructural marvels like the Amahoro Stadium, which was renovated from a seating capacity of 25000 to a swooping 48008 seats in 2025, and the BK Arena, ecology, and tennis club. Apart from these government-funded projects, there is this one-of-its-kind Gahanga cricket stadium, which is an excellent example of responsible private sector investment for the advancement of regional-level sports accessibility. Rwanda is now revamping with special focus on the upcoming FIFA WORLD CUP .
