Saudi Arabia's Qasim region is consistently developing sports infrastructure to promote sports participation in the region

In recent years, Saudi Arabia’s Qasim region has witnessed a consistent surge in sports infrastructure, assisted by public-sector projects and private investment aimed at increasing participation in physical activity.
Infrastructure development projects include establishment of 19 football facilities in Buraidah by Qasim Municipality. These facilities are built to provide dedicated spaces for the younger generation to engage in sports and physical activities.
These infrastructure projects are part of broader efforts to upgrade sports and community infrastructure in the Qasim region and are capable to host local tournaments and sporting events.
Private sector investments have been the key driver in the sports infrastructure industry’s growth. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Sport’s brach in Qasim, the region houses 270 sports and training facilities including 170 sports centers, 71 sports academies, 24 private sports club and five specialized training institutes.
The Qasim region’s increased focus on building sports infrastructure aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to increase sports participation, encourage healthier lifestyles, and enhance access to sports infrastructure across the country.
