USA vs Paraguay: Pochettino's USMNT Shreds Underdog Tag with 4-1 Opening Demolition of Paraguay

The time when the USA would enter the World Cup as the plucky underdog hoping for something miraculous has come to an end. Taking advantage of a rare slip by the US team, substitute Maurício found himself space inside the penalty area and made no mistake with his shot. Yet, the last word came from the hosts. Hungry for revenge after what had happened earlier in their history, substitute Giovanni Reyna entered the fray and produced magic for the US team in the dying minutes of the game. In the 90th minute, Reyna scored an exquisite, curling goal from outside the box that left the goalkeeper stranded on his line, and the scoreline became 4-1 in favour of the USA.
